Research for a new Cleveland Guardians Ballpark Mysteries book took me to an unexpected landmark, the impressive James A. Garfield Memorial at Lake View Cemetery outside of Cleveland. It’s really big.
Garfield, our 20th president, is buried here. And it turns out he had a baseball connection, too. Garfield was a baseball fan and even wrote in his diary about games he attended in Washington, D.C.
